Motivation

Ever wonder why the exercise dropout rate is so high? Between 20-50% of new exercisers quit after the first year. It's not due to lack of skill or time. The #1 reason people stop exercising is lack of motivation.
There's no doubt about it -- lifestyle change can be difficult. While a supportive environment (family, friends, co-workers) certainly makes commitment to a fitness program easier, the motivation necessary to make exercise a life-long habit has to come from within. One of the keys to staying motivated is focusing on activities you enjoy. You are much more likely to stick with a program that not only promotes health and fitness benefits, but also brings some amount of pleasure and enjoyment.

It's also helpful to record your progress on a chart that can be reviewed to reinforce all of the positive results of your program and to stick to a schedule -- behavior that's repeated at established and consistent times, quickly becomes habit.

How do you stay motivated? Send me your tips for staying motivated I'll compile this input and add it to this page in hopes that it will help others Stay Motivated!
